Our Skip-Off



The “Skip Off”

What did you learn?
* To wait, jump, wait, jump ...
* I learnt to skip in he big, long rope.
* I learnt to jump over the rope.
* I know that parents can help too.

What were you proud of?
* That I could keep the rhythm – “Big–little, Big-little, Big-little ...
*That I could jump the big, long rope.
*I can jump high, fast and backwards.

What was tricky for you?
*Little ropes are hard to do.
*Keeping the rhythm – “Big/little, Big/little ...
*Flipping the rope over my body.
*Trying not to get hit by the rope.
*Waiting my turn.
*Waiting for the rope turners.

What will we do next?
*Show resilience, keep trying again and again.
*Learn some new moves.

Reading Eggs is helping me to read.

"I love Reading Eggs, and I am on level 4.  I do it at home sometimes, but my brother doesn't let me go on for a long time because he has to do his work. My brother and my mother helps me if I get stuck."

Decorating Our Hat

What did you learn?
* How to draw lots of different patterns.
* How to paint a hat.

What were you proud of?
* Creating lovely patterns.
* Carefully painting the sections on the hat..
* Making our patterns look beautiful and not messy.

What was tricky for you?
* To not be messy and go over the lines.
* Painting carefully in the sections.
* Drawing the patterns carefully.
* Trying to make the patterns big enough.
* Drawing enough patterns to make an even amount.

* To make a hat for my brother.

I am learning to make a rhyming string (car, far - cat, fat, sat - word families).

"I can find the rhyming words in the books I read.  It is easy for me. It is tricky to say the long words, and I have to sound them out. Mrs Wyatt and my Mum helps me to read."

I am learning to write my idea in a sentence that makes sense.


"It is hard to spell the words, so I need to sound them out. I sounded out the word - 'everyone'.  It was a little bit hard for me.  It is easy to do finger spaces and full stops.  I forget to do full stops sometimes.  Mrs Wyatt helps me to do writing."

I am learning to solve addition problems by counting the objects.


"It was a little bit tricky because I had to do lots of counting. It is easy to count to 20, and count backwards from 20. Mrs Wyatt and my brother helps me, but if my brother is busy doing his Mathletics, then my Mum teaches me."

What were you proud of?
*  Working in a team.

*  I did a two hand throw.
*  I was proud because I was trying .
*  Not throwing the ball too hard.

What did you find tricky?
*  Not throwing the ball too high.
*  Throwing the ball.
*  Focussing on the ball.
*  To roll the ball in the right direction.
*  Trying to catch the ball.

What would you like to do next?
*  Bounce the ball to each other.
*  Bounce, walk and catch the balls.
*  Dribble the balls like in basketball and soccer.
